silent night
couple of days ago i felt the need to get out into the snow, though freezing cold – someone gotta test camera’s batteries anyhow 8) the planned short walk then took over 3 hours, back home past 2 in the morning..
my main goal of course has been our village’s castle, as it’s lights could give nice effects with lower fog, but unfortunately the fog wasn’t that low.. but with snow and all this light-pollution around here one can shoot at night nowadays at speeds nobody ever would have thought of couple of years ago!.. did i mention lately i actually *love* light-pollution? ;)
all done with bibble 5, just some tweaking of colors/whitebalance, no photoshop.
autumn quest
on my search for vincent’s photos i stumbled across a folder dated quite exactly a year back.. it’s been a sunny autumn day and time for a little relaxing, so i grabbed a couple of lenses and climbed up the woods behind our house – as always being followed by our girl gizmo who loves such raids, coming with me no matter how far i go ..
vincent’s kittenhood
after kind of a weeks-long lasting near-death-experience (seperate post to come) with our tomcat vincent i finally had to take the time to work up his youth-pix, which never ever made it into a proper gallery. kind of celebrating his second birth, or third yet.. vincent came to us after having quite some bad luck yet, likely having been hit by a strimmer while sleeping in grass and afterwards been put in front of the door of a befriended vet who patched him up .. his initial name should have been “lancelot”, but as the tip of his right ear is cut off, it simply had to be something more appropriate.. remember van gogh? 8)
pics were taken between june 2005 and december 2006 – yes the last ones are him as well, that’s what a free running tom looks like in winter ;) also some shots of gizmo in there, but not too many as the two don’t get along too well, so barely ever are close to each other..
not so cool. fire.
today there was big fire in a nearby rubbish dump, smoke piled up about hundred meters, being blown towards vienna along the danube where it mixed up with the clouds.. guess one didn’t see much sun down there today..
