oh yeah, sooner or later i had to establish a geekdom-related category on that blog.. 8) so here we go. new gadget in the house, namely a nokia n800 webpad, but thanks to it’s open platform it can be used for a lot more than just surfing the web, there are tons of community contributed tools..

though there’s a successor available yet (n810), the n800 still looks like the better choice, other than the added keyboard there haven’t been serious improvements, rather the opposite is the case, the new one eg lacks the second (internal) sdhc-slot, and coming with a new os-version there aren’t that many tools out for it yet.. besides, the n800 can be upgraded to this version, and by doing that, even the cpu-clock will be dialled up to the 400mhz of the n810.

so what can one do with this thing? well, writing blog-entries for example :) a small tool named MaemoWordPy directly connects to your wordpress-install making it possible to publish offline written posts as soon as one gets hold of a wifi-connection.. not that i would be offline that often.. 8)
