long way – short trip
some snapshots (to be taken literally) of a 10 day – including 2 days sitting in planes – trip to australia, sydney and canberra where we covered the world’s biggest 24hr-mtb-race .. great race, great country, way too little time..
all shot with a ricoh caplio r7 whose design still (though delivering poor file-quality) is my favorite for a compact/carry-along-camera, if ricoh ever built in a less noisy chip and an orientation-sensor i would not consider anything else anymore.. though having had mechanical issues with this current sample, it’s definitly *the* holiday-camera for me.

Hi Markus, what’s special about the Caplio R7? I’ve looked at the Ricoh site and it reminded me of my first digi-cam, the Casio Exilim EX-Z50. And there are lots of cameras out there looking and behaving like it. Or am I missing something?
Best wishes, René C. Kiesler

oh.. a real comment 8)
why ricoh caplios:
- starting at 28mm
- very fast&responsive
- very compact for it’s zoom-range
- lot of manual control
- good battery-life
one might easily find compacts producing better (less noisy) files, but for me that’s not that important in a point&shoot.
